Username Investment CEO bags Africa Business Personality Award

A Netherlands based magazine that covers African news is set to award Username Investment chief executive Reuben Kimani.

Kimani will receive the Africa Business Personality Award as part of the Voice Achievers Awards.

The awards gala which is in its 10th year is organised by Dutch magazine The Voice and will be held on August 16.

For the first time in the award’s history, the gala event will be held on the African continent, with the venue slated for Sarova Panafric Hotel in Nairobi, Kenya.

“This award is a recognition of our efforts and I am proud of the Username Team, our clients and stakeholders for believing in us and making us the preferred real estate Company in Kenya and now in Africa,” Kimani said after receiving news of his win.

According to the Voice African News Magazine, Kimani is being recognised for an “un-paralleled contribution as a businessman of repute, manager of people and giver to worthy causes within Kenya” where he has “positively impacted the lives of citizenry through creating employment during this scare period of jobs in the country.”

Established in 1999, the awards initially sought to provide a voice for African communities in The Netherlands and African people in the Diaspora at large. It took on a global emphasis in 2012.

“The Voice Achievers Award is established in the Netherlands as project of The Voice magazine to recognize Africans and friends of Africa of outstanding achievement on a yearly basis,” the award’s main website says.

“We recognize governments, institutions, entrepreneurs as well as charities, social enterprises and those businesses that are making proven positive social or economic impact on Africans or a particular country in this contest.”

Past winners include former President of Zambia Dr. Kenneth Kaunda and Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) Fatou Bensouda who hails from Gambia.

For the 2019 edition, other awards winners include Uganda’s opposition leader Dr. Kizza Besigye, First Lady of the Republic of Mozambique Isaura Nyusi and Nairobi Women Representative Esther Passaris.
