The move has brought a momentum in Tangatanga team campaign at a time the DP was faced with tough questions from voters in his backyard who were furious that the project ignored Eldoret despite Ruto’s position in the government.

It was happening at a time a report had been aired on a national TV highlighting a clashing comparison of a shinning Raila’s backyard Kisumu City to a pathetic looking Eldoret town.

When the news of China rejection against the loan request hit the country Ruto and his tangatanga team reportedly slid into celebratory mood as their online warriors scathingly mocked the President and Raila on different social media platforms.

Ruto had been on the opinion that the SGR phase 3 and 4 which was almost hijacked by Raila was supposed to take Eldoret-Malava route.

However  the government has refuted claims that it failed to secure Sh380 billion loan from China for the extension of the Standard Gauge Railway from Naivasha to Kisumu.

State House Chief of Staff Nzioka Waita  said the extension of the railway was not on the agenda of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s visit to China.

He said instead, the President had “shared” plans to rehabilitate the existing railway to Kisumu.
