A house help aged 22 years was on Monday sentenced to life imprisonment by a court sitting in Rongo, Migori County after she was found guilty of defiling a 6-year-old boy.
Delivering the judgment, Rongo Senior Resident Magistrate Raymond Langat said there was enough evidence linking the woman to the offence committed on March 30, 2019.
The woman was accused of defiling her employer’s son and knowingly infecting him with a Sexually Transmitted Infection.
The magistrate pointed out that the most agonizing part of the matter is that the woman defiled the boy yet she knew her health condition and she was on drugs.
The court observed that the boy, who was also put on medication to prevent him from the danger after defilement, suffered psychologically.
The accused was given 14 days to appeal the court decision failure to which she will continue to serve her life sentence.
