Teachers Service Commission headquarters has been dragged into the saga surrounding Ikombe Day and Boarding Primary School in Yatta. This after it emerged that the headteacher Munyao Mbondo has been at the public school for over 13 years. It is also claimed Munyao is the sole contractor, supplier of stationery, desks and lockers in the school. Every construction in the school is allegedly done by Munyao and materials purchased from his hardware shop at Ikombe market, and transported using his lorry.
Who in TSC protects Munyao to have overstayed in the same public school and who gains is the question. What is his network within Kenya National Examination Council? Why have Machakos county and Yatta TSC officials not transferred Mbondo for all these years?
Parents of pupils who posted sterling grades but who are tailing in secondary schools they were admitted to are asking the ministry of Education to probe claims of exam leaking.
It has been a mystery to many how pupil pass with over 400 marks but are unable to compete with pupils who scored 250 marks in other schools.
