Mel Morris who is the owner of championship club Derby County has made it clear that Chelsea have not contacted the club over luring Frank Lampard back to Stamford Bridge.
Lampard is a clear favorite to succeed Maurizio Sarri at Stamford Bridge after the Italian left Chelsea to join Juventus on a three-year deal on Sunday, June 16.

Morris has now issued an update on the current situation, adding that Derby will continue to plan for next season in the Championship with Lampard.
“There’s no change in the situation at present, except for the fact that Chelsea no longer have a manager. We have made it clear to everyone, but most importantly to Frank, that we want him and to retain his services for the long-term,” he said.
“If Chelsea want to hire Frank, then it is in their gift to make an offer in pursuit of that. In the meantime, we will continue to put our best foot forward to continue with our plans,” he further submitted.

Earlier, TUKO.co.ke reported that Lampard is keen to bring Chelsea legend Didier Drogba at Stamford Bridge to form part of his coaching staff at the club.
Drogba, who is the west London club’s fourth all-time greatest scorer is in line for a role as striker coach after discussions with Lampard.
