AFC Leopards youth coach suspended

AFC Leopards Youth (The Cubs) Coach Boniface Ambani has been suspended by the club’s Executive Committee this coming hours after the club confirmed that their club elections are on.

Without giving any reason, the club noted in a statement on their official social media feeds:

“The National Executive Committee has asked the head coach of the Youth team, Mr Boniface Ngaira Ambani to step aside with immediate effect until further notice.

“More details to follow…..”

The news comes just hours after the club confirmed that their elections slated for Sunday 23 July 2019 at Kasarani Stadium will continue as planned this after the courts threw away Ambani’s application in stopping the exercise.

In a letter sent to newsrooms on Friday by the club’s Branch Chairpersons, Ambani’s actions were contrary to stipulations of employer-employee relations under the Kenyan laws and requested the National Executive Council through the Secretary-General to ensure remedial measures be taken against him.

Ambani had applied for an injunction to stop the club elections claiming that there was a lot of irregularities in the voting list with the club life members list having been scrapped. Apart from the lists, Ambani claimed that he had no faith with the boys that had been given the task to oversee the process.
