3 court clerks murdered in Eldoret within a year – Weekly Citizen

Three is the number of court clerks murdered in Eldoret since the year started.The latest victim being David Ouma a clerk at the High Court  who was found murdered a few metres from his house in Jerusalem estate in the outskirt of Eldoret town along the Eldoret-Iten road.

In Febuary, two clerks Phenney Rowa and Shadrackl Bett working at the law courts registry died under suspicious circumstances.Eyes are now on Chief Justice David Maraga.

Already eight judicial staff have recorded statements and Uasin Gishu County Police Commander Augustine Nthumbi claims, directorate of criminal investigations is analyzing statements taken from the eight persons before any arrests are made.Talk is,Ouma was lured to death in a deal gone sour by a person who knew him well.Being investigated are last phone calls he received and SMS.Not spared is if the latewas involved in any love triangle or land dispute.

Also involved in the investigations are officers from Homicide Unit based at DCI Nairobi were also assisting in the investigations.

The deceased is said to have left his house after allegedly receiving a call from a colleague at around 10 pm on the fateful day.

His body was however found with deep cuts on the back of the head by his neighbour who was heading to work in Eldoret town at around 5.00am.

Judicial employees led by Kenya Judicial Staff Association President Sango Maewa  have expressed fear over their security owing to the rising number of colleagues who have lost their lives under mysterious circumstances in different places across the country.
