Eibar vs Barcelona saw La Liga champions claim a 3-0 win over Los Armeros on Saturday afternoon, October 19, at Estadio Municipal de Ipurúa, with the trio of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Antoine Griezmann scoring.
The encounter saw Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde ring the changes after two players saw red in their win over Sevilla, with Jordi Alba returning from injury, while Samuel Umtiti replaced suspended Gerard Pique.
The pair of Sergio Busquets and Antoine Griezmann also made the starting XI as Arturo Vidal and Ousmane Dembele were missing.
After 13th minute of play, Griezmann broke the deadlock for Blaugrana courtesy of an assist from Clement Lenglet, which the French forward place past advancing Elber shot-stopper Marko Dmitrovic at his near post.
Barca came close to making it 2-0 up in the 30th minute after Messi dribbled past Eibar defenders, but Dmitrovic was well positioned to take the ball away from the Argentine playmaker, who was about to apply the finish into an empty net.
Barcelona continued to dominate the proceedings in the latter stages of the first half, but they could not increase their goal haul, while Eibar had not to show going forward as goalkeeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen was simply on holiday in the first 45 minutes.
After the restart, Barca were not in a hurry to net more goals, two minutes before the 60th minute Messi fired home a low shot from Griezmann assist on the left side of the box.
Eibar were struggling to get into the contest going forward as they tried to stage a comeback to no avail, but they were handed more troubles in the 66th minute after Griezmann connecting to Messi, who set up Suarez to net without the goalkeeper in sight.
With 11 minutes left on the clock, Valverde brought on Ivan Rakitic in place of Frenkie De Jong, but no further goals were scored Barca on top of the game until the blast of the final whistle.
The win sees Bacelna move top of the La Liga log, one point adrift of Real Madrid, who are on action late on Saturday night.
