Jesse Lingard provides an update following England withdrawal

Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard withdrew from the England squad with illness and has revealed his frustration after missing the clash against Bulgaria.

Lingard did not train with the national side on Friday in the build-up to their fixture with Bulgaria and eventually withdrew from Gareth Southgate’s squad on Saturday. The 26-year-old will also miss the Euro 2020 qualifier against Kosovo on Tuesday after sitting out of the 4-0 win over Bulgaria.

Lingard took to Twitter to express his frustration but lauded his teammates, “Frustrating that illness has meant I can’t be involved in these two games. Great result yesterday and sure the lads will get the job done again on Tuesday!”
